Docrates is expanding its imaging offering starting in October with amyloid PET imaging, which brings a significant new tool for the diagnostics of Alzheimer’s disease.
Amyloid PET enables non-invasive detection of beta-amyloid plaque accumulating in the brain. The benefit of imaging is its precision and reproducibility: it also enables the follow-up of the amount of amyloid over time, which is valuable, for example, when assessing treatment response.
At the same time, software is being introduced for quantifying amyloid on the Centiloid scale — an internationally standardised tracer-independent metric that provides an accurate numerical result alongside visual assessment and enables comparability of results across different imaging sessions and institutions.
