Thomas Wahlgren

Specialist in Oncology
PhD in Oncology / Experimental Oncology

I have 30 years of experience in oncology, both as a clinician and in medical research and drug development. I originally specialized in urological tumors, particularly prostate cancer, but through many years of work in drug development I have gained broad knowledge of modern cancer treatment and diagnostics. I am now returning to clinical work and to meeting patients — something I very much look forward to.

For me, it is important that every patient is seen and listened to, and receives a clear and reassuring understanding of their illness and treatment options. I strive to provide personal and respectful care, where medical knowledge and the latest scientific evidence are combined with an understanding of each patient’s individual situation, wishes, and needs.

Through my work in healthcare, research, and drug development, I have gained broad experience in cancer treatment and in how new knowledge and therapies can be translated into tangible benefits for patients. I place great emphasis on working together with the patient to find a well-founded treatment strategy and on creating continuity, trust, and reassurance throughout the entire care pathway.
