Elina Jokinen

Specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology

I am a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology. I have accumulated 20 years of experience working as a doctor. I work full-time in the Pirkanmaa wellbeing services county, focusing on the gastroenterology responsibility area. My duties include endoscopies of the gastrointestinal tract, including the diagnosis of bowel cancer and its precursors. My special responsibility is the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as the care of gastroenterological patients requiring inpatient treatment.

Based on research data and experience from my own work, I believe that with effective screening and treatment of precursors to bowel cancer, we can save more people from the suffering caused by cancer.
