During my career as a specialist, I have treated many types of cancers. For the past five years, I have worked as a specialist at a clinic specialising in gastrointestinal cancers. My special expertise relates to the medication of these cancers as well as their diagnostics and research.

Since 2022, I have worked as a clinical assistant researcher in several phase 1–3 studies on cancer drug treatment.
Biography
Justina Kaukola’s special expertise includes the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers. She graduated as a physician from Vilnius University in 2011, after which she moved to Finland. In 2014, she began specialist training in medical oncology at the University of Helsinki and qualified as a specialist in 2020. Since then, she has continued working as a specialist at a clinic specialising in gastrointestinal cancers.
At the same time, Justina Kaukola has worked as an oncologist at the geriatric oncology clinic, being responsible for cancer care for elderly patients. In addition, for about two years she has treated patients weekly at the cancer clinic of Päijät-Häme Central Hospital.
She draws strength and support for coping at work from her family and from her favourite hobbies, such as gardening and spending time at the cottage.
